Security & Insurance
Because your Oz Treasures are precious to you, be sure to protect them with the correct security measures as well as the correct insurance coverage. Items in your collection can get broken, stolen, damaged by water, or destroyed by fire. Disaster, both natural and manmade, can strike when you least expect it. Here are some tips that you can use to prevent your Oz collection from harm.

Precautions for preserving your Oz Collection
*Make sure to check your smoke detectors and other warning devices that they are properly operating. *Check and maintain fire extinguishers to be certain they operate properly.
*Insure items that are particularly valuable. Page down further for more information on collectible insurance.
*Maintain an inventory of the items in your collection. Always update the inventory with new acquisitions. For the most valuable items in your collection some things to include are photographs and appraisals if you have them. This inventory should be kept in a secure location off-premise, such as a safe-deposit box or relative's home.
*When placing items from your collection in storage consider location of water pipes and fuel pipes when deciding where to store your items.
*Take special precautions to minimize potential damage. For instance, raising storage boxes off the floor by placing them on shelves or plastic pallets may keep them dry in the event of a flood. Cover boxes and objects in polyethylene plastic to mitigate water damage.
